Vote for the next marathon time control

+1 Usolando.

How exhausting is running a marathon (both for Thibault and also on a lichess server)? Because if it's not too much, I think a 0-1 or 1-0 marathon at some point, even without a beserk option, would be incredible. While it might be inconvenient for those with low computer speed, if it's not a lot of trouble to run marathons, I would love to see a bullet/hyperbullet as well as 3+2.

maybe someday when lichess has grown more, there can be:
Monday 1+0 Marathon
Tuesday 3+0 Marathon
Wednesday 3+2 ....

I think that the best option must be based in democracy, I mean: based on users' opinions. :)

Thanks so much for organizing these marathons! It's always exciting to watch if not play.

As for time controls, I always prefer to have an increment. It's so much less stressful to be able to mop up a won endgame without frantically racing against the clock. If the issues with berserking increment games are resolved satisfactorily, I'd definitely be excited to play more Arena tournaments. I thought I was alone in this, but if it's this popular why wait for the next marathon?

Perhaps the least popular official tournament, Hourly 3+0 Superblitz, could be replaced with varying time increment tournaments. Or perhaps Hourly 5+0 Blitz tournaments could alternate with an occasional 3+2 and Hourly 3+0 Superblitz could alternate with an occasional 2+1.

This marathon's are soo exciting, even If i don't get a good rank is fun to play. As a classical chess player I would go for the 10+0 time but having in mind that it's a 24h marathon, it would be more slow, so I think 5+3 would be the best choice, those 3 seconds would remove the clock pressure.
Hope it will be a Blitz Marathon instead of a Bullet one

My favourite blitz time control is 5+3, but I voted 5+0 and 3+0 because, somehow, I think I'll do better.

You've probably thought of this already, Thibault, but the 28th is a Monday which might not fit in with quite a lot of people......I know it's a holiday for most of us.........Second, politics is good yahdeeyah....but already the forum is filling up with basically the same topic, so it might be worth advancing one of the suggestions about the forum.....could be that the tournament is worthy of it's own (temporary) folder? Third, a bit of a drum roll, stupid electioneering, people trying to buy votes (I can be bought) and purdah (silence) for maybe a couple of days before the announcement.....
My preference is the same (3+0) plus maybe a penalty for not playing every 30 minutes? That would throw a bit of interesting tactics in there.........

I would like to see Marathon were the time controls are mixed and random between one minute , three and five. At the very least it would cause any cheaters problems :) Little bit of extra excitement at start of every game finding out which time control.
