But on your level, it is completely understandable as Eric's content is more directly targeted at a beginner audience, I just watch the highlights.
That is why you see GothamChess And EricRosen or Hikaru say that, as they know the vast majority of their audience are beginners and so they base their advice of that, but here at Chessbrah we say if you see mate in 1, look for better!

Whilst there is an argument to be made for playing on and hoping for a cheapo, generally at the higher levels the respect and acknowledge for their opponents strength through the form of resigning which is kind of admission saying that I know you are good enough to win from this position and therefore I will concede this game.
