Access problem

Lately I get an error message a lot when trying to reach lichess:

The en.lichess.org page isn’t working
en.lichess.org redirected you too many times.

(Win XP, Opera)

I can get in with workarounds, but it's a pain.

The issue may be that my location's default language isn't "en", but English is the interface language I use. I am not going to change that. Fix your $%^#& interfering busybody social media setup or lose a member.

Err, I mean, "please". :p
Can you copy-paste the table of languages that this page shows http://aruljohn.com/language.php for you, it would make it a bit easier to debug.

Also, if you don't have English in that list, follow the instructions at the bottom of the page to add it. It will be sent to web servers so they know it is a language you want to be showed.
Thanks - apparently I have *only* English according to that tool:

Detected 2 languages in your web browser.
Language Codes Language Names
en-US English
en English

And I have had my lichess interface set to English for ages. I suspect there may be an attempt to redirect me to my native language based on *location*, which then clashes with my chosen interface language (English).
About your comment "busybody social media setup", can you describe what you mean? If there is something weird/social crap on the pages, can you show a screenshot of it please
No, all I see here is that the url that keeps showing up briefly while I attempt to connect to lichess is the one that starts with the initials of my local language.

However, when I occasionally access lichess from my work computer, it does insist on opening with a local language header and design that reminds me of some social media network that I have seen sometime in the past - I don't really remember which one, as I don't use it, though I may have opened an account a long time ago - possibly Blogger?

As for weird behavior, again at work, I have seen a phenomenon that after opening a lichess page, the browser (IE, in that case) keeps trying to reinterpret every url visited afterwards as a lichess one. This is a completely different issue but also a very annoying one. :\
