Suggestion: Chat rooms.

I think its a great idea to look at other chess sites and analyse what makes them special in order to improve lichess.

As i transitioned from chesscube to here, the only advantage CC has over lichess is its chat rooms, chat rooms are great ways to meet new friends and build a community, frankly i feel quite alone in this site as i have never even received a single message since i joined.

and that's all i have to say :), this site is awesome.

When it happens, it will most likely be similar to the way the most excellent http://online-go.com/ does it.

There will _not_ be a global chat room though, as that is very difficult to moderate and we've done it twice before. All people do is leave drive-by comments. So it will most likely be team chat.

I also noticed that there's no chat rooms in spectators games, it would be much appreciated if they implement one .

IRC is good. You can get webchat clients which are good.

Spectators can chat. You might be referring to LichessTV. IMO not having chat on LichessTV is a good thing because it might become similar to the low effort chat on twitch.tv .
