Firefox performance issue

Hello,
while I am not particularly sure if the issue was present in lichess 1.0 and have no way of finding out. I do have some performance problems on my mid-high end machine and Firefox with lags of piece animations and overall "speed" and "smoothness" of the site. I am on latest Firefox 67 mind you. Chrome does not have this kind of problem.
Am I alone or is there some kind of systematic problem?
I posted the following in a similar topic, but the short of it is: try disabling hardware acceleration if you can find a setting like that in Firefox. I don't know that it is related but it might help.

--------------------------
A friend of mine was complaining of large lag spikes when using Firefox. I watched him play bullet and could tell a difference in the cadence of his play from normal. He would also have a very odd behavior of pieces dropping mid move, landing on squares he hadn't intended, etc. Not the normal mouse slip type of things either. We tried comparing pings between browsers, phone and wireless, many things. I suggested he try Chrome and both problems were mitigated but still present.

I then suggested he turn off the hardware acceleration option in the advanced settings of Chrome and upon doing so all of his lag, weird mouse issues, etc have all completely disappeared. Not quite the same scenario as yours of course, but perhaps it may help. Also, I know Firefox has a similar setting so perhaps experimenting with that may help.

@MixflitchTixsnitchen thank you for the suggestion. I have had similar experiences with Chrome behaving in rather odd fashion even on my powerful machine with 64 GB of RAM. Interestingly, the only browser with which I have never experienced a lag is Edge, even though Lichess says that Edge is only partially supported.
@MixflitchTixsnitchen thank you very much for suggestion, I will give it a shot!

@naughtier_than_AIG I've used Chrome for many years and I guess I need a change for awhile. Also FIrefox is listed as fully supported so I wondered if it was me or lichess with a firefox problem..
It is Lichess with a Firefox problem. No doubt about that.
No problems here with Firefox 67.
Try without the add-ons (Menu → Help → Restart with add-ons disabled) or with new profile (Win+R and type: firefox -P)
