Lichess users using Fritz

Hi there,

Do you use Fritz? Are the Fritz features not present in lichess worth buying it? Is the friend or spar mode useful? I'd be interested to know. Thank you.
Fritz is good because it can connect different engines. To analyse at a greater depth than in the blitz lichess analysis. 7 Stockfish works well in Fritz. Still good to have Chessbase 13. For the analysis of their parties or analysis of the imported games of strong chess players. Without Fritz or Chessbase 13 difficult to study debut. In them it is possible to connect the first book, for example Rybka or Hiarcs or Fritz. Also examine the position with a specific structure. Also studying endgames. All the best chess players have 13 Chessbase , Fritz 15. And 7 engines Stockfish , Komodo 9.42 , Houdini 4. You can greatly improve your game if you use these programs.
I literally just got Fritz 15 today - was going to create a topic until I saw this. It looks great for learning as it seems that the engine can adapt to player's skill level, and show strengths and weaknesses in opening, middlegame etc. I think this could be used as a great Chessmaster replacement (I have Chessmaster, but it's a bit old now, and I've seen others asking for a replacement - here it is. Something which CM doesn't have either is the nice database, always useful.

Tell us a bit more when you have experimented a bit with it!

What about the sparring/friend mode, that is supposed to "train" you. Do you use that?
In each mode, Fritz shows what a blow he wants to strike. Very hard to fight off a threat as it is very deep. Fritz I'm losing, my best result was a draw. Play with your computer not very interesting, I mainly analyze their games on lichess. Much more fun to play with live opponents in a blitz on lichess.
I thought it might be interesting if it told you interesting stuff about your play, or if it told you that there was some tactical opportunity, prompting you to think about it (like in a puzzle, but within a complete match)?

Also I'm surprised that with your Lichess rating you would lose every time: aren't there many levels, including weak ones?
Loosen the engine in the Fritz. It will still play without error. There is a positional struggle. And the most interesting tactic. In my opinion. Better to play with people , it's much more interesting. And with the engine for example to analyze. When playing blitz with people, have an interesting position, which can be solved by combination. With the computer, such beauty you will not. Playing with the computer, you will not be competitive in the game with people.
@JacquesD
sparring mode does something similar to what you describe... the engine tries to create tactical combination against himself for you to spot

In general, the analysis functions are way better that what you can find here, or on other browser based sites; you can use many engines, including the same one used on lichess if you want (stockfish 7), but have access to much more customizable options to tailor the analysis to your needs.

It also comes with some very nice database capabilities, not as extended as his "big brother" Chessbase, but still fairly adeguate
Used to play with it more when i was a kid, where online chess was not a thing... I still have my Fritz 5 and 6 discs (which, surprisingly, still works on modern Windows machines), and the feature is more or less as it is now on Fritz 13, which is the newest one I personally have, and I guess 14 and 15 too.

It is a nice way to play against an engine, more interesting than simply choosing a lower skill level AI, but honestly i would buy it just for that... it's all the analysis stuff that it's really usefull, as i wrote above.
